While the Berks County government, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and local municipals provide the majority of our funding, we raise approximately 19% of our budget through donations and various fundraisers.
If you shop with Amazon start at smile.amazon.com/ and select Brandywine Community Library as the charitable organization of your choice, Amazon will donate a portion of your purchase price to the library each time you shop! (Remember to start at smile.amazon.com each time.)
There is an ongoing book sale in the library meeting room every day during our open hours. There are bargain basement prices and a huge selection. There are new items coming in every day so keep checking back. We often get brand new bestsellers donated and popular authors. Paperbacks are as low as 20 cents and hardcover books for $2.
In addition there are many children's items, DVD's and magazines. These make terrific gift items or you can just stock up on favorite authors or non-fiction subjects. All funds collected from the sale help to improve the quality of your library.
Upon checkout you will notice we have various items for sale to benefit the library
- Gertrude Hawk Chocolates
- Usborne Greeting Cards and Box Sets
- Event tickets
- Raffle tickets
Please save your Redner's and Radcliffe's receipts. Drop them off at the front desk when you stop by the library. This is a very simple way of helping out the library, last year we received over $500 from our receipt program with a small amount of participation from our patrons. Increased participation in this program could be a great way to raise funds for the library.
