Match collected: $2,700.00 Match Goal: $2,500.00
Thank you for helping us reach our match!!
We have been selected as the only Berks County Public Library to participate in the 2024-2026 Youth-Led Humanities Cohort. If you remember us talking about the Teen Reading Lounge (TRL) grant the last two years- this is the same organization but with a new name and some changes. We have been approved for two years and will receive $5,000 each year. We are required to match $2,500 for each year.
This year the group will focus on mental health. Activities will include book discussions, crafting, community service and more!
The library is required to raise 50% of the $5,000 grant to be used for staffing, a service project and program supplies not covered in the grant. Please help us raise enough money for the match. We are hoping 500 people can donate $5 to help us reach the $2,500 before June. If you are able to donate to the Youth Led Humanities program, it would be greatly appreciated.
• You can write a check to Brandywine Community Library and in the memo line write TRL/YLH. Checks can be mailed to the Brandywine Community Library, 60 Tower Drive, Topton, PA 19562.
• You can visit the library to make a donation.
• You can donate via the Paypal link:(Please consider covering the PayPal fees to make your donation to go a little bit further.)
Some people were asking if they could give more. We will gladly accept higher donations for anyone able to contribute more.
· $15 will provide a Teen Mental Health First Aid workbook for a teen to take the class
· $20 will cover snacks to all the teens at a meeting
· $25 will cover a spool of filament for the teens to print fidgets to distribute among the community
· $30 will pay for a teen to paint their own pottery at a local studio
Thank you for the support! Everyone was so excited to hear about what the youth were doing last year-- keep watching throughout the year for updates from this year's group.
This project is made possible by Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Funds from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Office of Commonwealth Libraries with additional support from the National Endowment for the Humanities, individual donors and other funders.
