Thank you for your patience! We miss you!

Library-to-Go Service

Take advantage of this service in four easy steps.

1) Place your order online or by phone, and our staff will prepare your order.

2) We will call you to schedule at time to come pickup your order. Pick-up appointment times will be staggered to aid in social distancing efforts.

3) Staff will check out your materials, bag them and label your order with your initials and the last 4 digits of your library card.

4) Your order will be waiting inside the vestibule of each library at your appointed time. Simply come in, match the library card number, grab your items and go! Please remember to wear your mask and bring your library card for verification.

Ordering by phone is easy:

Call 610-373-9888 for the Spring Township Library

Call 610-678-4888 for West Lawn-Wyomissing Hills Library

Please leave your name, phone number, library card number, and items that you would like to request. We are sorry but we are unable to transfer items between libraries right now. You are welcome to pick up by appointment at any Berks County library.

We are looking forward to when patrons will once again be able to browse inside the library, however in an effort to keep our staff and patrons safe and healthy, the libraries will not be open for services within the physical buildings at this time.

Let us be your personal shoppers! We will be happy to assist you in finding items you will enjoy. Give us some clues and we will put together a pack of suggested items for you. Kids, Teens, Adults, we have you covered! Let us know your taste and we will put together a sampler of items.

Returns and a Fine Free Summer

Your returns will be accepted by book drop ONLY during the operating hours of each library. Please see our current operating hours for each library below.

Due dates for checked out items are currently set to July 15, 2020. All returned items will be quarantined for 3-5 days before    check-in for safety purposes. To thank you for your patience Spring Township Library and West Lawn-Wyomissing Hills Library will be having a FINE FREE SUMMER! No fines will be charged until September 8! (Good at Spring Township and West Lawn-Wyomissing Hills Libraries only.) Fees for damaged or lost items still apply as well as fines accumulated before March 14, 2020.

Dedicated to Safety

We are quarantining items, sanitizing high-touch surfaces frequently such as the pick-up area, door handles and more areas throughout the library. All staff and patrons are required to wear masks. We will continue to do all we can to protect our wonderful staff and patrons. We look forward to when we can safely welcome you back inside the library again. In the meantime, we hope you will take advantage of our Library-to-Go services as well as the many online programs and services that we are offering.

Thank you for your support, understanding and patience. You have all been wonderful during these past few months. Please    continue to follow guidelines and stay safe. Continue to visit our websites and Facebook pages for virtual programming, eBooks, and other services.

Sincerely,

Barbara Kline                                          Jon Duffy

Make Use of Our Online Resources

You have access to materials 24/7 with our various online resources!

Visit Berks Libraries Resources Page to learn how to access movies, books and music from home.

Both libraries are also working tirelessly to compile information, ideas and more to provide our communities with fun and educational activities for those who are currently spending an unusual amount of time at home. We will continue to make this information available on our websites and on Facebook.

Stay Up-to-Date

Continue to visit this COVID-19 Updates Page for links to trusted resources (available below) as well as updates pertaining directly to the libraries, such as further scheduling adjustments or program cancellations.

Stay Healthy

Here at the Spring Township Library Association we have the utmost concern for all of our patrons, staff and volunteers. We encourage all of you to continue to follow the advice of various government and health agencies such as the following:

  • Wash your hands often.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or elbow. If a tissue is used, immediately dispose of it and wash your hands.
  • Don't touch your face, especially your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects in your home and at work frequently.
  • Stay home if you exhibit symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, a runny nose, sore throat, fever OR if you have come into contact with someone who has contracted COVID-19.
  • Practice contactless greetings such as a wave, nod or bow.
  • Avoid close contact with anyone who is sick.

Coping with Anxiety

This is understandably a stressful time for our communities. Here are some helpful ways to stay relaxed and reduce anxiety:

  • Connect with friends and loved ones. Thanks to technology we can still keep in touch through texts, emails, video chat and phone calls.
  • Limit where you are turning to for COVID-19 related information. Choose sources that are reliable such as those listed on this updates page.
  • Limit the amount of time you take in this information. Perhaps only checking once at the beginning of your day, and once at the end of the day.
  • Stay positive about what you can control such as following good hygiene practices and having a plan of action.
  • Practice relaxing, self-care activities such as yoga, stretching, meditation, a bubble bath, or reading a book (our favorite idea of course!).
