Co-County Wellness Services

Begun as an AIDS Service Organization in 1985, Co-County Wellness Services is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), community based organization serving Berks and Schuylkill Counties that now addresses other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and adolescent sexual health in addition to comprehensive HIV/STD services.


 

Council on Chemical Abuse (COCA)

The Council on Chemical Abuse, also known as COCA, is a non-profit agency that provides addiction resources, prevention education and recovery support for Berks County, PA. COCA also provides assistance for prevention, treatment, and recovery options. You can find information on a variety of additions including:

  • Alcohol
  • Drugs
  • Prescription medications
  • Gambling/gaming
  • Tobacco/nicotine
  • Marijuana

Library of Accessible Media for Pennsylvanians (LAMP)

The Library of Accessible Media for Pennsylvanians (LAMP), is a program funded through the state and is administered by the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and the Free Library of Philadelphia. Resources are freely provided to Pennsylvanians to meet the eligibility requirements. These include:

  • Digital audiobooks downloaded onto flash drive cartridges
  • Braille books and downloads
  • Braille magazines
  • Large print books
  • Tactile/Braille early literacy kits
  • Audio described DVDs
  • Bookshare digital access

Safe Berks

Safe Berks, formerly Berks Women in Crisis, provides a safe haven and ongoing support system for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. All services are provided free of charge, are strictly confidential, and are available in English and Spanish.
