1. Get Carded

If you already have a card—great! The first step is done. Your library card allows you to borrow books from any of the 23 member libraries and access to the digital collection on Overdrive or its companion app, Libby. If you don't have a Berks County Public Libraries card or don't know if it's active, visit your local library to sign up. More information about registering for a library card can be found here.

2. Download the Appslibby app, overdrive app

While you can access your digital library from any computer or Internet browser, there are free apps available to download which make borrowing books fast and easy. Set up your preferences and get reading in just a few clicks. The Libby and Overdrive apps are available for most devices. You can learn more about how to use the apps here.

3. Sign in with your Card and PIN

Once you've downloaded either the Libby or Overdrive app, follow the prompts to set up your account. Select Reading Public Library as your home library and enter your library card and PIN to log in. Typically, your PIN is the last four digits of your phone number on file. If you need to reset your PIN, contact your library for assistance.

4. Read & Enjoy!

Now that you've successfully logged in to your digital library, browse the collection and download titles directly to your Shelf. Items downloaded directly to the app can be read or listened to offline and are automatically returned at the end of their loan period.
