Library Reopening

Your library is here for you.

In order to respond to the latest information and guidelines from local and state officials regarding COVID-19, the library will be making operational changes to provide a safe environment for staff and patrons while continuing to offer library services. Because updates and best practices are constantly evolving, please visit berkslibraries.org/bethel-tulpehocken and our social media channels for the most up-to-date information.

All Berks County libraries will be following their own guidelines, which means that procedures and services will differ.

How to request items for pickup.
Go to the online catalog at berkslibraries.org or contact us with your requests via:

Picking Up Requests
When you receive a notice that your holds are ready, visit the library during our open hours and call or text when you arrive. We will place your items outside or bring them to your car.

Returns can be placed in the book drop any time.

Other Services

Visit the Online Digital Library. We have eBooks and eAudiobooks available for you to read/listen to from your desktop or mobile device. Log in with your library card and begin borrowing thousands of titles.

Make an appointment to use the computer. Call or text to schedule an appointment to use one of our computers.

Expanding In-Person Services

We will continue to evaluate and make adjustments based on recommendations from the Office of Commonwealth Libraries. There will be some adjusting, but we ask for everyone to be patient as adjustments are made. We’re all in this together.

I don’t have a library card. What can I do?

All Berks County residents and those that go to work or school within Berks County are eligible for a full access library card! Right now, we’re accepting online applications for any Berks County resident without a Berks County Public Library card.

When will the library offer in-person programs?

We miss programs too! Libraries have suspended all in-person library programming. We will continue to post updates as available. In the meantime, be sure to check out the library’s virtual programming.
