As you may know, there are some changes coming to OverDrive during the next few months. This includes the discontinuation of the legacy OverDrive app in favor of Libby which provides a better user experience for reading eBooks and listening to eAudiobooks. As Libby does not currently support video viewing for the digital movies and shows in our collection, OverDrive is temporarily providing streaming access to Kanopy for all Berks County Public Library cardholders.

This temporary access is available through July 11, 2023.

After this time, Kanopy streaming service may be continued or stopped dependent on patron interest. We encourage cardholders to explore Kanopy and tell your library if you enjoy this service.

Getting Started with Kanopy

• You can access Kanopy through desktop or mobile browser at https://readingpa.kanopy.com or by downloading the free Kanopy app from your device's app store.
• Next you will need to enter your library card information. You only need to complete this option your first time signing up for Kanopy.
  • Browser users: click on the Add Library Card option from the desktop or browser landing page and enter in your library card number and PIN.
  • App users: select Get Started and Find Library. Search for the Reading Public Library. Note: there may be multiple Reading Public Library options. You will need to choose the option that lists Reading Public Library without the Massachusetts (MA) following.
• After entering in your library card information, you will need to create a Kanopy account using an email and password.
• Once your account has been created, you'll need to verify your account through a link provided via email.
• Then browse through Kanopy's streaming options and enjoy!
