The Board of Trustees of the Fleetwood Area Public Library are excited to finally welcome the community to their new library! After the launch of the 2020 Fuel our Future Capital Campaign the library was successfully renovated and opened on August 3. After over 30 years serving the communities of Fleetwood Borough, Maidencreek Township, and Richmond Township, the library is ready to start a new chapter in a brand new space!

The Renovation

The Fleetwood Borough generously offered us a room on the first floor of the Fleetwood Community Center of what was once the High School Shop classroom. Renovation started in January of 2020 and was completed in June of 2020. The project was completed with the expertise of Burkey Construction, Kleckner Laucks Architects, and J. P. Jay Associates.

The new Fleetwood Library is slightly bigger in size and features distinct and separate spaces for different purposes: a children’s room, a teen room, and a work room to be used not only by library staff but will be available to be reserved for a variety of purposes from tutoring sessions or small meetings.

Additionally, the renovation of the new space allows us to link the library to our current program and MAKERspace area which we have rented for the past year and half in Room 111 of the Fleetwood Community Center. Our new library location on the first floor is directly situated down the hall and our renovation project included adding a side door to Room 111 so the two spaces are now connected. With this, our library will be able to use this space more frequently and expand our services and programs.

"As a homeschool mom, all of the resources available there are invaluable to me. My kids and I are at the library at least once a week—usually more. My son and daughter often say that the Fleetwood Library is their favorite place to go!" —Lisa Houp (Maidencreek Township)

We Need YOUR Help!

The cost so far has been $675,000 and thanks to a successful start to our Capital Campaign we are almost to our goal! With a little more work still to be completed, we need to raise approximately $100,000. For the library's 30th anniversary, we're asking for your help to assist us with reaching our goal. Every contribution will go towards strengthening your library for everyone in the community. We thank you for support in helping the Fleetwood Area Public Library FUEL OUR FUTURE!
