 Children's Summer Reading 2026

Uncover exciting programs and activities at the BTPL this summer! Kick off summer 2026 with dino-themed fun by Unearthing A Story at the BTPL! On Monday, June 1, our Summer Reading program will be in full swing.

Our events and the reading are separate, so feel free to just read, just attend events, or do both!

Children's Summer Reading

Throughout the summer any child 18 & under has the chance to sign up for our reading program. Simply stop by the library anytime after registration opens on Tuesday May 26 to fill out our 2026 Children’s Summer Reading Guidelines. Once you are signed up you can start tracking your reading! You may read books from the library. You may borrow a book from a friend or read a book you have at home. You may read books by any author and on any subject. You may even read graphic novels, eBooks, and audiobooks, they count!

Then exchange lists of items read or listen to with a librarian anytime you visit us! In exchange you will be given tickets that can be used to enter raffles for big prizes, traded for books, or saved for fun and prizes at our carnival on July 25 from 10am-1pm.

Programs

The BTPL host Summer Reading children's programs each Tuesday at 11am from June 2 through August 4. Please register prior to events each week. These events are geared for all ages to learn about dinosaurs, create crafts, friendships and enjoy a morning of fun each week!

Adult's Summer Reading

Adults – we have prizes for you too! Anyone ages 18+ is welcome to join our Adult Summer Reading to win tickets, books, gift cards and raffle baskets at the end of the summer.

Any adult or young adult book is fair game. Each book only counts once, even if you reread it. You may read books from this library or another library. You may borrow a book from a friend or read a book you have at home. You may read books by any author or about any subject. You may even count graphic novels, eBooks, and audiobooks.
