The name of the program says it all! Parents are challenged to read 1000 books to their children between the ages of 0 and 5. Each family receives a log (several options to choose from) to keep track of the books read. Small prizes, such as stickers and coloring pages, are awarded at each 50-book milestone. Progress is tracked inside the library with a fox named for the participating child. The fox will progress along the path concurrently with the child's reading milestones! At 500 books, kids receive a free picture book. At the end of the program, the child receives a shirt with our 1000 Books logo on it. A Library Day is a special event where library patrons can enjoy and explore community organizations for free by showing their library card or as part of our library group.

Dads & Doughnuts
June 16, 11 AM-1 PM, at Temple Playground (900 Mount Laurel Rd, Temple, PA 19560.) A pay-what-you-can event. Enjoy refreshments while celebrating the special man in your life (dads, granddads, or any special guy in your life are welcome.) Register by June 8th to receive an invitation and a small gift to give your dad to invite him to attend this event with you!

Lucky Day Bouquet Raffle
Chances are 5 for $5 and can be purchased with cash or check only. Winner will be drawn at the Dads & Doughnuts event at the Temple Playground on Sunday, June 16th. Need not be present to win. The prize is a bouquet of $100 worth of Pennsylvania scratch-off lottery tickets. Benefits the Muhlenberg Community Library! Chances will also be available for purchase from the library until Saturday, June 15th or purchase at the Temple Playground during the Dads & Doughnuts event.
